A Glimpse Into The Flow
She thought she was there to rest.
But the island had other plans.

Excerpt:
Jack scanned across the gray shadowed city, muted in the early light. His floor to ceiling windows gave a mountain view over the forest of glass and steel. Walking to the shower deep in thought, he mechanically prepared for the day. Rubbing his eyes, he felt the dryness. Sleep had evaded him — the same nightmares, again and again.
They were always about trying to protect The Prophecy. In his dream, he was running along a riverbank, trying to catch something out of reach. Then he found himself in a fierce battle. Finally he’d been diving deep into water, searching achingly, only to find that a beautiful woman he felt was his wife, had perished.
Even awake, he could still feel the loss of the woman from his dreams. Never being married, he wondered why he was so sure this woman was his wife. But as always, he hadn’t been able to change the ending, and when he woke, the dream faded but the feeling of grief remained.
Frowning, he didn’t have a clue what his subconscious was trying to tell him.
When he emerged dressed for the day, he glanced at his glass display case, at the gold-edged book inside. This small gift came from his mentor twelve years before when he’d first learned of The Prophecy and his part in it. He’d picked it up countless times since. Walking across the room briskly, he opened the glass door and gently withdrew the small book. Turning the pages carefully, he began to read the translated words:
“This Prophecy is entrusted as a gift to your people. In the far future in the world outside your island, machines and tools will be worshiped like gods, and the earth will be pillaged as their sacrificial food.
You will bring the balance of nature back and help the world’s people to again be free to live in peace and prosperity. Your tribe will be the example and deliver this ancient message to escape the darkness of the world, restoring harmony and cooperation between humans and nature.
Watch for the signs of fulfillment:
The last wisdom-keeper: with the tribe’s sacred training she will hold the ancient knowledge.
She will venture far to learn about the world tribes, nurtured and guided by a mother from the broken tribe. This knowledge will be the foundation to bridge the inner and outer worlds. The last wisdom-keeper will be named the Light-Balancer.
Two students will arrive for her: the first will be the builder, who will begin the structure for housing and protecting the fulfillment of this prophecy.
The second will be an unaware teacher whose arrival will be recognized by a coincidence, to eventually translate the message of expansion. Like a bell ringing in a new song, this one will harmonize the message to heal the world and allow enlightened ones to build the future.”
Jack closed his eyes and exhaled, standing taller. He’d read enough to get back the focus to work on his goals. Carefully placing the small book back into the case, he nodded to himself, slowly closing the glass door.
Downstairs, right on schedule, the silver Mercedes pulled up to the entrance, and his driver nodded with a smile as he arrived. Feeling a need to be around people this morning, Jack left extra time before his first appointment.
